Beyonce Releasing a New Fragrance: "RISE"

There’s no stopping the Beyonce train. After surprising folks with her visual album this year, the R&B queen is set to drop more product in 2014. This time, it’s a new fragrance called Rise.

“For Beyoncé, gold symbolizes luminosity, optimism and strength,” the perfume house said in a press release.

RISE is a sexy, intoxicating scent — it has top notes of Italian Bergamot, Golden Apricot and Iced Basil Sorbet. The middle notes consist of a blend of Gold Symphony Orchid, Freesia Blossom and Natural Jasmine Sambac. The bottom notes round it out — Autumn Woods Accord, Cashmere Musk and Vetiver Extract.

“The fragrance concept is a about female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful. [Beyonce] has done a lot of fruity florals. She’s done gourmands. Pulse was this electric citrus-y floral. This is sexy and sophisticated. We tested it in multiple countries with excellent results,” said Marsha Brooks, Vice President of Global Marketing at Coty Beauty.

Beyonce collaborated with Loc Dong, a perfumer at (International Flavors & Fragrances) IFF for her new fragrance.

“The Orchid is the centerpiece of RISE. The Golden Apricot helps create a bold statement that is also playful,” Loc says.

The fragrance will be available in three Eau de Parfum sizes — 0.5 oz, 1.0 oz, and 1.7 oz bottles.
