Lea Michele for Teen Vogue March 2014: "Louder is like me, i'm loud"

Lea Michele graces the March 2014 issue of Teen Vogue looking soft and pretty, wearing a white eyelet frock with her long locks piled up into a loose bun.

The ‘Glee’ starlet talks to the magazine about her debut album ‘Louder’, and how boyfriend Cory Monteith inspired her to pursue a music career before his untimely death.

On her upcoming album: “During Glee, I felt like I was scratching that itch of being an artist. I was at a great place in my life and I was so unbelievably happy—my relationship with Cory [Monteith] made me feel like I could reach for the stars and more. So I was like, ‘I’m going to challenge myself and do this record now.’ It’s obviously pop, but I think it shows me off as a singer.”

On her mean about Louder and fav song on album: Louder is like me. I'm loud, I come from an Italian family, I don't stop talking. My favorite song is, 100 percent, "You're Mine." I listened to it the other day—it was the one song I had the most emotional reaction to, just because that's my relationship with Cory.

On Cory’s favourite song from her upcoming album ‘Louder’: “He was such a fan, you don’t understand. He would be like, ‘You’re going to be a pop star! What are we going to do? Are we going to, like, go on the road?’ He would say, ‘This is going to be big!’ And I’d be like, ‘I don’t know.’ He heard every song and gave me his notes on everything. He loved ‘Battlefield’. I’m getting chills thinking about it. I would say ‘Burn with You’ was his favourite. He came into the studio that day.”

On where she got strength after Cory’s death: “I somehow feel the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength that I have right now. There’s just something about knowing he’s watching everything I’m doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him. I also have a safety net below me—if I fall or if it’s too much, my friends and family will be there to catch me.”

Lorde Covers V Magazine's Music Issue

New Zealand high-school student EllaYelich-O'Connor, better known as underdog pop hero Lorde, is a girl on fire. The self-aware singer, who sometimes dip-dyes her fingers in black paint, just raked in two Grammys this year, making her the third youngest Grammy winner in history.

Now the “Royals” songstress fronts V Magazine’s March Music issue. She shares V cover duties with lady rock trio Haim, who are on alternates. There are an additional two covers to come, making it four acts total.

On the black-and-white cover shot by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele, Lorde strikes a pensive pose in a black Chanel dress.

Lorde wearing Chanel is a match made in fashion heaven. And how amazing are her huge teased tresses? They’re so bold that they give Lady Gaga’s hairstyle back on her 2012 Vogue cover a run for its money.

While Lorde is undeniably making major waves, she’s not too keen on being dubbed “the voice of a generation.” “Oh, come on!” she objects when informed that an NPR writer has just referred to her as “the Nirvana of now.” “I’m sure so many people will read that and be like, ‘Fuck off!” she says to V.

Check out more snippets from her interview below and head to V Magazine’s website later today (Feb. 13) for the complete interview.

On being portrayed as an “anti-Miley [Cyrus],” an “anti-Taylor [Swift]": Lorde insists she’s not particularly interested in being “anti” anyone, even if, as she admits, she is demographically something of an in-between.
“I’ve always hung out with people older than me, with my parents’ friends, because I appreciated the conversation. And even now, although I have heaps of friends in high school, I also hang out with a lot of older people. And sometimes with them I’m like, “God, this is boring!” But it means that I get to have these stimulating encounters with people that I idolize, which is cool.”

On suddenly finding herself rubbing elbows with red-carpet-walking royals and finding it bizarre: “Totally,” says Yelich-O’Connor. “You’re right, it is at odds with what I write about, and the reality of my life until a few months ago. But when I go home, I still do all the stuff I used to do. I dunno...part of me feels like it’s weird to just get sucked into that world.”

On being wary of Lorde overload: “I want to let people stop hearing Lorde on the radio all the time, because it’s kind of crazy at the moment. I’d like to give people a little bit of breathing room before I unleash something different.”

V’s March Music issue hits newsstands on February 27.

The Hollywood Reporter: 10 Global Pop Icons 'Avril Lavigne'

The Hollywood Reporter, released her 10 Global Pop Icons. One of them is rock singer from Canada, Avril Lavigne.

Technology has made it easier for Toronto-born Lavigne, 29, to reach her fans, but there's nothing like having boots on the ground. "I still like to be old-school and go city to city," she says.

For her self-titled fifth album, released in November by Epic, Lavigne combined both, promoting it in person and streaming a concert across the globe. She starts an Asian tour Jan. 31 in Japan, which embraced the singer early on.

During her first trip there after the release of 2004's "Under My Skin," the label pulled her aside to tell her not to be concerned if people were holding up their phones. "We didn't have cameras on our phones yet; they did first," she marvels.

Lavigne loves to play for both the orderly Japanese fans and more boisterous Chinese crowds but admits all the flying is grueling. "It's way more difficult and a lot more stress on the body" than a trek by bus, she says. But the audiences -- and the retail therapy -- make it worthwhile. Says Lavigne, who has sold 35 million albums worldwide, "I'll wake up to go shopping in Japan, because it's the best ever."

Vanessa Hudgens Talks About Her New Movie 'Gimme Shelter' on NYLON Magazine February 2014

Vanessa admits that her role in her new movie ‘Gimme Shelter’ was way out of her comfort zone. See why having short hair and bad skin made her laugh in a new interview!

Vanessa Hudgens, 25, looks stunning with a red lip and loose waves in her hair on the February 2014 cover of Nylon magazine. Inside the issue, she talks about her gritty new movie role, where she plays a homeless, pregnant teen. “I loved looking into the mirror and seeing myself with short hair and bad skin and tattoos. The uglier I could make myself, the more giggly I would get on the inside,” Vanessa says.

Vanessa’s cover photo is a far cry from her character! She looks so good in the new photo shoot!

“It was the first time I really stepped out of my control zone, physically and material-wise. I’m a little afraid of myself when I watch it,” Vanessa tells Nylon.

“I don’t think it’s ‘good girl gone bad.’ I think it’s more ‘girl growing into a woman and being passionate and taking choices.’ I have so much work to do, and I think I will always feel that way.” Vanessa says about her movie role.

Vanessa’s Sexy Photo Shoot

Vanessa mixes hard and soft in the shoot, pairing a pink tutu skirt by Moschino with a black skull t-shirt by Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren.

Along with her red lip, her eyes are piercing, with long, dramatic eyelashes.

Selena Gomez on Seventeen Magazine March 2014 Cover: Girl Power

It's hard to tell if Selena Gomez is back together with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, but based on her cover interview for Seventeen magazine's March 2014 issue, he's not the one for her. According to Selena, she hasn't found someone who can understand her lifestyle and not be threatened; in fact, she admits, "I might scare some guys." But that doesn't mean she's going to stop doing what she loves. In the interview, she reveals that she felt most powerful this year, breaking out of her "underdog" Disney status and finding the right people to surround herself with — especially close pals Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Keep reading for more from Selena's cover story, then pick up an issue for yourself on newsstands Feb. 4.
  • On guys being threatened by her: "I actually talked to Katy Perry about guys who are intimidated by strong girls. I haven't found someone yet who could understand my lifestyle, support it, love me through it, and not be threatened by it. It's hard. I do think I might scare some guys, because I'm like, 'I want to change the world! I have dreams! What do you want to do?' But I only know how to be me."
  • On how 2013 was a big milestone: "This year is when I really started feeling powerful. I had always been the underdog secretly. I was on Disney when it was Miley [Cyrus], the Jonas Brothers, and Demi [Lovato]. I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote. Then I turned 20, went through a really bad breakup, and realized I needed to have 'Come & Get It' be amazing. I wanted it all to be me. I'm glad it's taken me this long to get where I am because now I am ready for it."
  • On that feud with Lorde: "I recently did an interview and they asked me who I thought was up-and-coming and making a difference. I said, 'She doesn't like me, but Lorde.' I'm going to support her whether she likes me or not because I think she's doing great things. Some day I will see her and we'll be cool."
  • On surrounding herself with the right people: "I noticed my friends were different, that we were all becoming supportive. I'd get so angry at a friend and tell another friend and she'd just say, 'Why don't you look at her side.' And those things piss you off in the moment, but then you realize that that's who you want to be surrounded by."

Rolling Stone Cover for New Zealand Teenager: Lorde

Lorde is pictured on the cover wearing a T-shirt of rockabilly punk band The Cramps, and the magazine looks at her childhood, how her single Royals became such a hit and how she has become an icon for teenage girls.

The young Kiwi spent nine weeks at the top of the US Hot 100 Billboard chart last year and will perform at this month's Grammys, where she is up for four awards.

But she told Rolling Stone contributing editor Rob Tannenbaum, who interviewed her in Auckland, how she suffers from nerves.

"I get paralysingly nervous a lot of times, so I tried bravado,'' going on to say that her demeanour can be daunting for some.

"The way I dress and carry myself, a lot of people find it intimidating. I think my whole career can be boiled down to the one word I always say in meetings: strength.''

Lorde has also appeared on top-rating US shows Ellen, Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon but appears largely ambivalent to her fame. The magazine hits newsstands in the United States on Friday.

Soccer Legend Thierry Henry Wears Slim-Fit French Suits For GQ Magazine 2014

Is Thierry Henry going to be a model when he finally hangs up his boots?

The New York Red Bulls forward is the lead feature in January’s brand new edition of GQ as the Arsenal hero models suits for the men’s style magazine.

The article in GQ began with the following introduction:
"It’s been a while since Paris has set the tone for the look of our suits. (Usually Milan, London, or New York does that.)

But this spring, designers from all over the world are paying homage to the très-minimal precision and dark colors of French businessmen. So we asked soccer legend Thierry Henry to translate the look of his native country to the streets and bistros of his current home, New York City."
